Junior Accountant Manowa Malika accompanied Operations Manager John Feil on a flying visit to Mundri for meetings to discuss improvements to the airstrip.

For Manowa, who is usually assisting customers with payments in MAF’s Airport Office, it was a rare opportunity to jump onboard one of the MAF flights he helps to enable.

‘When John found out I came from Mundri he invited me to join him at a meeting at the commissioner’s office to discuss the airstrip.

In the meeting to discuss improvements to the airstrip Manowa’s assistance was invaluable.

‘As a son of Mundri I was able to greet them and talk with them in the local Moro language,’ Manow said.

‘We flew with Matt on the way out and Reuben on the way back – two different pilots and two different aircraft!

‘We were received at the airstrip by Bishop Bismark who accompanied us to the meeting. We met Executive director of Mundri West County the director of airstrip security, the director for survey and one of the representatives from national security and a staff member from SEM – Sudan Evangelical Mission.’

‘I was able to meet my mum briefly outside the office of the Commissioner’

‘I was happy to visit. It is not the first time I have flown with MAF but it the first time I have flown with MAF for a meeting. I enjoyed the flight very well.’
