MAF passenger, Pastor Prince Obasi-ike, flew with MAF back in June to attend a very special celebration to commission a brand-new borehole supported by his church RCCG - Solution Centre Family.
He explained on social media how he was moved by the need in the community to mobilize his church to respond:
‘The sight of this baby being given this dirty water led to the drilling of the borehole in a remote area of Kapoeta North in Eastern Equatoria Province of South Sudan. Thanks to the Almighty God who makes all things possible, the promise to provide good water to this poor community has been kept,’ he said.
As he was travelling, Pastor Obasi-ike shared about his journey with MAF: ‘I'm on my way to Kapoeta from Juba, where I will be commissioning a borehole drilled to provide water to the people of Moru An’gilimo and neighbouring villages, made possible by Brethren in RCCG Solution Centre and friends in Kenya that support my mission work. To God be the glory! Thanks to Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) for always assisting me to fly to remote places!’
Pastor Obasi-ike was met at the airport and travelled onwards by road to the remote village in Kapoeta North where the church has been outreaching a few weeks previously, with a team led by Pastor Obasi-ike which had built a church where the community could gather for worship.
There was great celebration in Moru An’gilimo as the community joined Pastor Obasi-ike to dedicate the new water and pray over the well.
‘Father God, we thank you for your mercy and love. Thank you for all the people you used to make this possible, Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit. Unto you, we dedicate the water from this bore hole. That whoever drinks out of this borehole from the community will drink life. Let them remember you. Let everyone who receives this goodness from you, be drawn closer to you! In the name of Jesus Christ this water is blessed, sanctified and good. Children shall drink of it and it will be well with them.’
Pastor Obasi-ike exhorts fellow believers to mobilize and make a difference. ‘Calling all who say they are of Christ to make a difference in people’s lives. If your capacity is small, join forces with others! The joy of the beneficiaries will be your overwhelming joy!’
MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) exists to see isolated people transformed by the love of Jesus. We are serving in South Sudan to bring help, hope and healing through aviation.
